How to Increase Your Adsense Earnings

By Mike | December 11, 2008

I’ve been an Adsense publisher for years and honestly, I’ve never really found any luck with it, UNTIL RECENTLY.  Today, I’ll share with you a simple technique on how to increase your adsense earnings.

In the past few days, I’ve seen my Adsense earnings increase an average of 4 times compared to what I was earning before.  If you’re wondering how much I used to make, then I’m proud (and ashamed at the same time) to tell you that I only only used to earn an average of $1 per day.  Yeah, I know that sucks.  Now, I’m earning an average of $4 / day already after I implemented just a few tweaks.

How did I do it? Well, first I interviewed Marhgil Macuha and tried my best to squeeze him for everything he’s got when it comes to making money with adsense.  This guy ain’t an adsense guru as you’ll find out in my interview with Mr. Macuha but he sure is making more adsense money than me.

So, what did I do?  Well, I followed this simple steps:

  1. I placed my adsense ads above the fold.  Check out my SEO blog to see what I mean.
  2. I took out the horizontal banners and replaced them with square format ads
  3. I took out the boxes around my ads

In just 24 hours, I saw these three simple things quadruple my earnings.  Not much but definitely better.  But we already know that, right?  I mean, these tips are mentioned by just about any make money online blog on the internet.  Thing however is that not all readers follow the tips.

I know that putting ads above the fold  somehow ruins your site’s layout and you may hesitate to do that choosing to just put the ads on the side and at the bottom and only putting small ads on top.  If you want to do that, then it’s fine with me but let me ask you this question, “Do you really want to increase your adsense earnings?”

Marhgil said, “What’s tough, based on my experience, is that if your site looks professional, you’d be ashamed of putting your ads in places where they get the most clicks.”  And tell you what – his site doesn’t look good (and he admits it) but it earns.  So you choose.
